How would you define beauty?
While something may be pretty or attractive or nice to look at, I would define beauty as possessing an attractiveness beyond physical features on the surface. To be truly beautiful, one must have a deeper level of quality to compel one to spend time pondering and dissecting and admiring it. Beauty found in nature/art/humankind is more than just what the casual observer can take in at first glance. For example, a tree is pretty to look at but what makes it beautiful are the millions of cells and grains that take nutrients from the dirt and sunlight, and the bark that protects the tree from breaking in the wind and frost and how all of it works together to make the tree grow. Beauty is the quality of awe inspiring and finely tuned workings that affect the perception of the surface and make something worth spending time and thought considering.
what is art?
Art is an expression of ideas, emotions, perception of something, or creating something expressive of who you are a s a person. Art communicates with persons known or yet unknowable about what you as a person find important. Art can be an expressive release or a window into the subconscious. Art can inspire others to create, it can speak emotionally to future generations in ways you may not have thought of when creating it and compel them to action or inaction.
